One of our favorite things to do is go to different museums and events in the area. The Fall is a wonderful time for outdoor festivals and fairs. The Smithsonian Museums are such a great gift to our country. I have been to almost all of them in Washington D.C. while visiting my hubby while we were dating. I have also been to the Native American Museum in Lower Manhattan. It is wonderful to be able to take in a bit of culture for FREE! The museums are so well done, I am always impressed every time we go to one.
While reading the Sunday Newsday, I discovered the
Smithsonian Museum Day. Basically, you can download free tickets to a museum in your area for admission on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Don't fret, if you aren't from NY, there are participating museum all over the U.S.!
